"I Feel Sick" Recap / Review

Jam Entertainment...UPDATE!!!

With the end of a great ABC Family Original Series, ::cough:: Wildfire ::cough::, comes a new show. This one is called The Secret Life of the American Teenager, or The Secret Life... for short. It premiered July 1st, and I've taken a liking to it.

The promo picture kind of gives away one of the show's plots. The show is about is about an awkward fifteen year old girl named Amy Juergens (Shailene Woodley) who gets pregnant after sleeping with a guy at band camp. She has to deal with all the changes her body is going through, as well as trying to keep the pregnancy a secret from as many people as possible (including her parents (Molly Ringwald, Mark Derwin), the father (Daren Kagasoff), and her new boyfriend (Kenny Baumann)), and trying to be a normal teenager. Her two best friends are there for her always, but we'll find out if that's enough of a support system for Amy. We'll also see how long she can keep her secret. For more detailed info about the plot of the show, click on the title of this post to go to the show's official site.

A new episode entitled "I Feel Sick" premiered yesterday. I actually missed the original airing at 8:00 EST, so I watched the encore presentation at midnight (Note: ABC Family always shows new episodes twice on the premiere night). This episode was very good, but I could have done without the constant commercials every five minutes.

Amy is still dealing with her "secret" pregnancy, but now she's starting to show a little, so she's freaking out a biti. Her mom thinks she's getting curves, which makes Amy more nervous. Her sister, Ashley, is suspicious about Amy's recent behavior and confronts her about it, but gets nothing out of it. Grace is still trying to convince her parents to let her date Jack again, after he cheated on her, but her efforts fall short. So Ricky offers to help her sneak around with Jack, and she agrees. This makes Adrian, Ricky's "girlfriend", jealous, and makes her think that Ricky's only seeing her to reap the "benefits" of their relationship.

Elsewhere, Ben asks Amy out on their first official date, and he plans a romantic first kiss with a little help from one of his friends and a stuffed bear (LOL). Their date takes them to the county fair, which is also where Grace and Jack meet up. Amy and Ben are having a great time, she is eating everything in sight (which is understandable considering her condition...). They ride on the carousel (the place Ben plans to kiss her), but to his dismay she gets sick from all the food she ate.

Amy goes home where her sister is waiting to confront her again. She finally tells her that she's pregnant and asks her to keep it a secret from their parents, and Ashley agrees. Ben comes by to return Amy's jacket she left behind, and gives her a bottle of ginger ale to settle her stomach (what a sweetie). Then he works up the courage, and kisses her, and tells her that he loves her. She says the same, and apologizes for the mishaps of the evening.

I can't wait to see what happens to Amy next.

The Secret Life... airs every Tuesday at 8:00 EST on ABC Family.

Big Brother 10 Premiere!!!! (1st episode SPOILERS)

Jam Entertainment...UPDATE!!!

Tonight was the tenth season premiere of my favorite summer reality show, Big Brother. I was so pumped for this. I mean what's better than a group of strangers living under one roof, backstabbing one another, forming alliances and showmances, and just causing an enormous amount of DRAMA!! I love it!! lol

So the show started out with the usual Julie introduction, and the houseguests finding out they are going to be on BB. Then Julie brought out all of the HGs. Then the first "twist" of the season: the houseguests would be deciding who would be the first Head of Household before even going into the house, purely based on appearance.

Then the HGs were allowed into the house in the usual groups, and everyone picked a bedroom (no cots this year!). The bedrooms were really cool: one pink, one retro, and one 80's rock themed. The HGs then did the usual introductions in the living room. Check out cbs.com for detailed info on each HG.

The first annoying houseguest revealed herself. Her name is Renny. The majority of the HGs already hated after the first few nights, when she screamed at the top of her lungs about her bedroom door being locked.

The HGs also competed in their first actual competition tonight too. It was a luxury/food comp. They had to split up into two teams of six (white and red), so Dan volunteered to sit out. The prize was food for the week for the winning team (and Dan since he volunteered to sit out), and a classic car for the overall winner. The game went like this: there were two classic VW bugs suspended upside-down from metal supports. The teams had to all cram into their respective bugs, and then pull the cars to one end of the track (via cables), pick up a gas container, and pull the cars to the other end of the track, where one teammate had to exit the car. This process continued until there was one member left in the car, who was the overall winner of the competition and won the car. The white team dominated throughout the whole competition, and won. Memphis won a classic Camaro.

It was then announced that Jerry won HOH, and he showed off his HOH room to his fellow HGs. He nominated Jesse and Renny because she caused the disturbance with the screaming, and he voiced his opinion about it the loudest.

Watch on Tuesday 07/15 to find out who wins the veto competition, and see if he/she uses it.

As always, BB10 airs on CBS on Sundays @ 8:00 EST (Nominations / Food Competition), Tuesdays @ 9:00 EST (Veto Competition), and Wednesdays @ 8:00 EST (Live Eviction / HOH Competition).

Check back here for more updates and reviews through the season.

Welcome!!
